Hadda Beetle (Epilachna vigintioctopunctuata)
It is a polyphagous insect pest and is major host of cucurbits,
potato, and kidney beans and eggplant.
Symptom: Both adult and larva feed on leaves
initially damaging green tissue between the leaf veins. Later a characteristic
damage called skeletonization occurs whereby only hard part of the leaves like
main veins and petiole are left.
Identification and Damage:

Management:
v Applying
ash can reduce infestation in early stage.
v Spray
castor oil, neem oil emulsion mixed plus garlic extract diluted in water.
v Bio
pesticides containing the bacterium Bacillus thurengiensis or the fungus
Aspergillus spp. can be used as foliar spray applications.
v If
chemical control seems necessary use product containing dimethoate,
fenvelarate, chloropyriphos, malathion can be applied as foliar spray.
